Toddler Program

When you enter a toddler room you will be greeted by a registered Early Childhood Educator. They will want to hear about your child’s evening and morning in order to meet their needs during the day and to ensure their well-being. At pick up time the Educator will share your child’s day verbally and by a written report. We believe we are partners in your child’s educational journey. There will a nutritious snack offered in the morning and afternoon as well as a hot lunch prepared on the premise by our cooks who have taken the Food Handlers course. The menus are posted in advance and offer a variety of entrees that have been approved by a nutritionist. Our program offers choice and care times throughout the day by following the HighScope Infant & Toddler Curriculum birth to 30 months and “How Does Learning Happen?” Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years. The children will be exploring nature outdoors for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon (weather permitting). The activities in the classroom are based on the children’s interests and are developmentally appropriate for children 18 months to 30 months of age. A rest period is offered after lunch where every child has their own cot. The children will gain a sense of belonging as they build a relationship with all the Educators. You will see your child’s engagement and expression through documentation and photographs provided to you in a portfolio.

We offer the toddler program at the following locations: Algonquin, Community Complex and Oxford Gardens.
